Where is your bakery located?

Laurel & Oak Cake Design is a food cottage business operating out of a private home in Apollo Beach, Florida, a suburb along the Tampa Bay's SouthShore.

Why should I choose Laurel & Oak Cake Design for my cake?

There are so many great cake designers in the Tampa area, you definitely are not lacking in options. However, as a small cake business, we commit to a limited number of orders per week. Not only will your cake be thoughtfully prepared, we use the BEST ingredients available. Real butter, King Arthur flour, premium chocolate, and eggs from happy chickens. No cake mix used here! We will also do our best to purchase local ingredients when available.

Did we mention our cakes are incredibly delicious? Tried and true recipes used over the past 10 years along with sophisticated flavor pairings. Your guests will be fighting over the last piece!

Ultimately, we'd love to celebrate your milestones, wedding, anniversaries with you over the years and we'd be honored to provide you with a special cake for those moments.

Do you offer sheet cakes?

Sheet cakes are only available for cake orders with 200 or more servings requested. They start at $4.00 per serving.

Can you replicate a cake that I found on Pinterest?

While we do love looking through Pinterest boards for inspiration, we tend to shy away from creating exact replicas of cakes that you may come across. As with most artists, part of the love of doing art is also being able to showcase our own creative spin whatever the canvas may be.

Why is cake so darn expensive?

The reality is that cakes can be incredibly labor intensive. While the ingredients can add up in cost, it is the labor that is the bulk of the price you will be quoted for. To make it worthwhile, most folks in the industry (including Laurel & Oak) have a minimum order. Our minimum celebration cake order is $150. Wedding cake minimum is $300.

Do you offer cake tastings and consultations?

Sure do. Cake tastings start at $25 for a variety of cake flavors and fillings. If you choose to use Laurel & Oak Cake Design for your event, the cost will be deducted from your invoice total. Free tasting events for engaged couples will also be scheduled every few months. Follow our Instagram and Facebook page for updates.

How do I order and make payments?

An initial inquiry through the "Contact Us" page of this website will help us determine a quote for you. At this time, we also highly suggest you to carefully go over our Terms of Agreement. It is important that the client understands these terms. After that, your date is ONLY secured when we have received your 40% non-refundable retainer.

The remaining 60% must paid in full no less than 1 full month before event. Cakes ordered within 1 month before event will need to be paid in full at the time of ordering. We accept cash, personal check, we also offer Square for card payments, a 3% service fee applies.

Do you deliver?

Absolutely! Laurel & Oak Cake Design would prefer to deliver your multi-tiered cake to you. Driving with tiered cakes require careful handling, no one wants a tipped over cake to present to their guests. No bueno. However, if you decide to take matters into your own hands and transport it yourself, Laurel & Oak Cake Design assumes no liability for damaged cakes. Wedding cakes and any cake with 3 or more tiers will require delivery and set-up.

Do you rent cake stands?

Yes, for a $25 fee and a refundable cash deposit.

Do you offer gluten-free or other allergy free cakes?

Unfortunately not at the moment, but we are working on it. Our French macarons are gluten-free. .
